Yes, you can create reusable equipment modules in Simcad, which is an excellent practice for enhancing efficiency and consistency across your simulation models. By utilizing the "Library" feature in Simcad, you can save your equipment and their associated constraints as modular components. This allows you to drop them into multiple models without the need to reconfigure the constraints each time.

To do this effectively, ensure that your modules are designed generically, with adaptable parameters that can be easily modified for specific scenarios. This approach not only saves time but also aids in maintaining consistent performance metrics, such as throughput and resource utilization, across different models. When you need to analyze bottleneck scenarios or optimize KPIs, having these modules readily available will streamline your workflow significantly.

I use the external module option. Select the model components you want to modulize, right click and save as External Module. Make sure to select the parameters, sections, and logic to be imported. Save it under c:/simcadproimages/custom or where you have the custom folder saved (this could be a shared folder for the team).
After that is done, refresh the modules list, the new module can now be used, select it and insert it like any other process in the model. Use departments when possible to save large section of the model.
