Dynamic Simulation® and Connectivity

Dynamic simulation® is often used as a means of increasing overall efficiencies in the healthcare industry. The versatility of dynamic simulation® technology, such as SimTrack®, also allows healthcare professionals to improve day-to-day operations. Users have the capability to visualize current operations through a web-enabled dashboard that is visible from any authenticated connection. Dynamic simulators open architecture, such as SimTrack®’s, enables it to interact and retrieve data from a multitude of live data systems such as EMR/EHR/RFID and provides a graphical representation in 2D or 3D of the operation. The data retrieved from the various tools allows staff to visualize daily operations including tracking and monitoring individual patient’s location and movement. Utilizing a Flow Analysis feature offered

in dynamic simulators, users can determine the impact of flow on patient and service providers. Furthermore, users are able to monitor ED wait times by accessing data retrieved from EMR/EHR/RFID systems. In addition, using the 3D view, real-time dynamic simulators, such as SimTrack®, can provide an entity-follow view that allows anyone monitoring the operation to view what the entity is seeing as it progresses through the system.

With the information presented in dynamic simulators, such as SimTrack®, allows for proactive scheduling and staffing optimization. By visualizing the daily operations, managers can effectively determine the number of staff they will need to run efficiently. Furthermore, users are presented with real-time data to optimize bed allocation and reduce patient wait times and length of stay.

The utilization of dynamic simulation® in day-to-day operations enables organization to better manage the daily activities improve system efficiencies and provide historical replay and analysis to help in understanding the past and improving the future.
